“Making dreams come true is a profession.” To bring the magic of Disneyland Paris to life, the company employs over 18,000 Cast Members from 123 nationalities across more than 500 different roles. We have supported the Learning & Development (L&D) teams several times on projects for trainer training and educational innovation aligned with the company’s learning strategy.
Placing people at the forefront, Disneyland Paris values the talent of its Cast Members through numerous learning experiences crafted and delivered by in-house trainers. We designed and implemented a six-month training program aimed at enhancing skills in creative facilitation techniques for trainers and instructional designers. This program was based on a series of Skills Labs to explore and practice techniques in visualization, storytelling, co-construction, and prototyping. To make the experience more practical and impactful, we created educational challenges to complete in the field and offered remote coaching sessions to deepen the learning.
In collaboration with Schoolab, we supported L&D management and teams over 8 months in co-creating projects on educational innovation, centered on the question, ‘How can we learn differently?’ Through a series of Design Thinking workshops, we began with a conference on the links between neuroscience and learning abilities, as well as a benchmark on multiple innovations, including the use of AI, the metaverse, ‘reverse coaching,’ and coworking learning spaces. Next, we facilitated several ideation workshops to spark creative thinking and devise tangible projects for personas and their challenges identified in earlier steps. Using applied creativity techniques, the teams created 12 innovative learning projects, such as a personal learning assistant, a metaverse simulation for in-store salespeople, an internal LinkedIn to identify experts for on-demand training, and immersive training spaces directly at Disneyland Park.
